SIMAX, Vietnam's Global CyberSoft to Set Up Semiconductor Fab Service JV in Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnamese technology solution provider GCS (Global
CyberSoft) has joined the semiconductor fab service alliance of SIMAX Global
Services, a US-headquartered service provider of equipment for semiconductor manufacturing
and related operations, according to a report by Viet Nam News on May 23. Also,
the two companies plan to set up a joint venture in Ho Chi Minh City in the
third quarter of 2009. Commencement of facility construction is slated for the
first quarter of 2010 and operations for year-end 2010. Moreover, collaboration
between GCS and SIMAX is projected to comprise services specialized in field
service, parts and consumables, engineering, remanufacturing, and trading for
established equipment in semiconductor manufacturing and application markets in
Asia. Via the alliance, it is expected that SIMAX will transfer its product and
equipment manufacturing lines to Vietnam in the future.
